Actually, I’d like to know how to disarm a gunman, would be a good skill to have.

Dora the Explora and Annastacia – the Fantasia – stop dreaming and get on with the job we are paying you to do!

No point taking tram during Games. As said by many before no parking at station and GCCC advised me they cannot guarantee a tram is not full. Thanks, that’s at least guaranteed! Full and only travel every 15 minutes! So what if I miss 2 or 3 trams, am late to work and staff don’t get paid? I’ll be driving myself.

Can’t believe how many bikes left in Southport/Benowa. What a stupid idea and a complete waste of my rates once again! Get real, Tom.

BS (Bill Shorten) says the country hasn’t got enough money? Why? Under Rudd-Gillard-Swan mismanagement the country was sold to the highest bidder for $360 billion. We are now an insolvent company, thanx to Labor. Shorten was there all along!

I can understand we need a vibrant film industry in Qld, but Dora The Explorer?? Isn’t a cartoon done in an office on a computer. PH Ormeau

Forget the traffic on the M1, something serious has to be done with all the sections of the M1 Hope Island intersections as it is absolute chaos in all directions each and every day. Doug

The rich suck the money out of the middle class down, like vampires.

So we must endure no wage for 2 weeks over Games but if we hire out a bedroom we will get fined!!! Does that sound right to you? Wog Why should we listen to Ciobo. He is part of one of two major parties that has rules for them and rules for the rest of us. Marco Polo

Keith Woods calls Labor spineless over pokies, whilst Tom Tate threatens us with more over his casino plans supported by the LNP. How about both parties and council be held to account for this revenue obsession. Patrick

Had to sympathise with UK tourists buying bus tickets Broadie to Surfers. $9 plus for 2 to next suburb. And they want us to use public transport! AN

When will business realise that the visitors here for the Commonwealth Games are only replacing the normal tourists who are not coming because of the Games and will be going elsewhere. So no gain

for business, just chaos. GB.

I, like many, am not opposed to a CST. However, the spit and beaches need to be preserved and only beautified as our point of difference. If a CST must be built, look to the Tweed area where a massive harbour entrance exists, close to the airport. This would make far more sense, not impact congested surfers, and provide jobs add growth where it is needed. Patrick. Keith Woods misses the point about pokies. Drugs and the crimes committed to get them are far worse than those addicted to poker machines. Poker machines don’t kill people. Barney

Regarding the 30 per cent tax break for movie makers, surely it’s better for the government to receive a smaller percentage of something than 100 per cent of nothing! Pete

Trump inherited the gun problem from many years of US thinking. To suggest it’s his doing is shite. BWM

Is Peter Beattie getting his political pension, paid for Games, paid for head of NRL. If he is ... what the?

John z. Tip for bad tradies not giving up seat to your good pensioner self. Lean in and let go one of your best f--ts in the general direction of said ignorant tradies. The seats will open up like manor from heaven. It works a treat. Old Fred Flatulance.

I was a member of the BLF , a Jack Mundey marauder. l have Labor flowing through my veins. Represent the oppressed, protect the vulnerable etc. I am having great difficulty in aligning myself with Labor’s attack on franking credits.

Poor Steve Smith, a bowler brushed his shoulder then he goes running to the umpire. please sir he knocked my shoulder, suspend him. Wimp, go play rugby league. You wouldn’t last 5 minutes.

With the new lanes marked by yellow lines for Com games to be used exclusively for accredited vehicles can any one tell me how the hundreds of people who live in Crestwood and Molendinar are going to make a right hand turn from Olsen avenue to get home? Joan

I’m loving the new speed reduction on the M1. No more congestion in the mornings at Smith St exit, instead I now sit in congested traffic all the way back to Exit 54 and adding another 20 minutes to my journey. 100km/h ... what a joke, I don’t get above 40km/h now.

Why all the vehicles for games officials and athletes, aren't they supposed to use public transport?

Is anyone else sending texts that take an hour or two to arrive? Very common on the North Coast. Not much good if you’re texting Dad to pick you up from the bus stop on a rainy night. Bruce, Murwillumbah, NSW
