Tim Minchin kicked off the new era of HOTA, as he performed the first outdoor concert in the revamped venue’s garden space to over 3000

HE sang, we saw, he conquered. The outdoor concert arena at HOTA opened with a flourish on Saturday night when Tim Minchin claimed the honour of the first performer in the new garden space. Well over 3000 people turned out to witness history and Tim certainly didn’t disappoint on the musical front with a selection of old and new songs and ditties to entertain the crowd. Mayor Tom Tate copped a few cheeky references which he accepted with good humour but to add a bit of balance, the stage Tim performed on would not have been in existence without Tom’s long-time support of the revamped arts precinct.
