Fresh hope means a lot
THE beginning of another footy season.
Even those AFL fans used to lower expectations are afforded the chance each 12 months for renewed optimism. For the Suns’ loyal crew, that extra hope was carried into the Round 1 victory over North Melbourne.
Sure, conditions were terrible in Cairns but a win is a win and given the club’s tough start to the year, those four points are worth much more.
It’s a similar sense of hope carried by fans of NRL clubs Wests Tigers and Newcastle, who are in the process of casting aside years of pain.
Even if it doesn’t last, it’s sure exciting for fans to get a glimpse of life at the top once in a while.
