Mouncey in VFLW side
TRANSGENDER footballer Hannah Mouncey will play in the VFLW this season as a potential stepping stone to the AFLW.
The VFL yesterday confirmed it had no issues with Mouncey’s participation in the season, which starts on the first weekend of May.
Mouncey said yesterday she had started training with a VFL club but was yet to officially sign after moving to Melbourne late last month.
The VFL believes that team is the reigning premier Darebin Falcons, one of 13 teams in the new-look VFLW.
Practice matches start this weekend, with Mouncey adamant she posed no safety threat to rival players.
