Walls really will have ears
PROPERTY technology company BuildingLink has struck a deal with Amazon’s Alexa to add voice-activated “skills” within its service offering.
The company, which has its South Pacific headquarters based at Sanctuary Cove, offers technology packages to more than 4400 buildings and 1.7 million consumers around the world, allowing users to do such things as arrange service calls and book building facilities.
Though previously available via software such as apps, BuildingLink International general manager Joe Marshall said by allowing the combination with Amazon’s voice-activated service Alexa people could “speak” to the building they are in.
“Through Alexa, users can connect to the amenities of the building,” Mr Marshall said.
