SOUNDS OF THE SCREEN AT HOTA

- BRIANNA MORRIS-GRANT

WIZARDS, sharks and Darth Vader – no, it’s not the start to the world’s strangest joke, it’s the premise for HOTA’s upcoming concert.

This Saturday the venue will present its ‘From Jaws to Jurassic Park: The Music of John Williams’ concert, presented by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.

One little fan will be donning her best pirate outfit for the occasion.

Eve Coll, 7, has seen the orchestra perform before, and said there was something in particular that had impressed her.

“I was interested in how they got it to be the exact same for the Star Wars music,” she said.

“They aren’t even the orchestra that plays it!”

According to CEO Criena Gehrke, the event is a fun night out for the whole family, with music from Superman, Harry Potter, Star Wars and more.

“We want to see kids here as their favourite superheroes, so there will be music, there’ll be food vans,” she said. “There’ll be a bar for the mums and dads, so we look forward to everyone coming.”
