Bear could tear open NSW rivals

-

A FORMER New Zealand representative could hold the key to Queensland’s mission to wrestle back the women’s State of Origin trophy.

NSW are aiming for their third straight win in the annual clash when they host Queensland at North Sydney Oval on Friday.

Former Kiwi Ferns workhorse Rona Peters shapes as a pivotal figure for the maroon side, offering supreme versatility and skill.

“The thing with Rona is she is so agile,” her Burleigh club coach Tahnee Norris said.

“You can throw her in just about any position. She can play in the halves, she can play hooker, she can play anywhere in the pack.

“We can even play her in the front-row and then you have got a ball-playing front-rower.

“Defensively she is probably the strongest in the whole (SEQ) competition with her technique, so to have that and to be able to put her anywhere to cover gaps is such an advantage.”

Queensland are yet to name a team in number order but Peters is a chance to play lock.
