Premier’s GST blast

-

ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk has hit back at Turnbull Goverment claims no state would be worse off under a planned overhaul of the way the GST is carved up.

The Premier said proposed changes could cost Queensland up to $1.6 billion a year.

“A $1.6 billion cut for Queensland is the equivalent of losing 5000 teachers and 5000 nurses and 3000 police officers and 1135 firefighters,” the Premier said.

“We want a GST deal that is fair to Queensland in the long term,” she said.
