Palestine aid halted

EDUCATION Minister Simon Birmingham has warned childcare providers against hiking fees, saying the Government would keep an eye on “rorting”.

Both parents must now work, study, volunteer or look for work for at least eight hours a fortnight to be eligible. Households with a total annual income of less than $186,958 will no longer face a cap on their annual rebate. For those earning more, the cap will rise from $7500 to just over $10,000 per child. Senator Birmingham said about a million families would be better off by an average of $1300 a child per year.
