Teens eye AFLW deals

AUSTRALIA’S best young female footballers are on the Gold Coast hoping to attract the attention of AFLW scouts.

The AFLW under-18 championships begin today with matches at Metricon Stadium. Other games this week are Broadbeach and Bond Uni.

Recruiters watching include those from AFLW expansion clubs North Melbourne and the Geelong Cats.

Six teams will compete – Queensland, Western Australia, Central Allies, Victoria Metro, Victoria Country and Eastern Allies. Queensland take on Victoria Country at Metricon Stadium today at 11am.
