FSG’S ODD SAFARI

-

DISABILITIES Services Minister Coralee O’Rourke cannot keep washing her hands of the collapse of embattled charity FSG.

FSG CEO Vicki Batten is reported to have taken some staff to Africa soon after the charity reported a loss. It has since gone into administration. Given governments and taxpayers were funding FSG up to $60 million a year, and with the jobs and financial wellbeing of 900 staff now at stake, Ms O’Rourke should demand answers instead of saying it was up to the board to oversee finances. How did Africa fit in with FSG’s role in looking after its disabled clients in Australia? Even if the trip was paid for from private donations, this is a question of proper administration.
