A WOMAN was hit by her own car during a carjacking on the Gold Coast yesterday.

The woman was putting clothing in a charity bin on Allied Dve, Arundel at 4.39pm when a man approached and stole her car. She was knocked over by the car as he took off.

Police are hunting the carjacker.

The woman was not badly injured and did not require transport to hospital. GOLD Coast schools and notfor-profit groups have until tomorrow to apply for Canon Oceania Grants.

This year, Canon is offering more than $30,000 worth of grants made up of both cash and Canon equipment across Australia and New Zealand.

For the first time, the wider community will be invited to vote on the finalists before the winners are announced for each sector in September.

Winners will be selected based on the positive effect their project will have on their environment or community, as well as the importance of technology for the project’s success.

Grants in Environmental, Education, Community and Runner-up categories will be be awarded.
