POLICE want to talk to a man about the theft of a car and other items at Burleigh Waters last month.
About 5.50pm on Friday, June 22, a 58-year-old woman parked her car on Kortum Drive while she attended a nearby gym. When she returned to her vehicle at 7.10pm, a window had been smashed and her handbag — containing her wallet, cash, bank cards and personal effects — had been stolen from under the passenger seat. About half an hour later, one of the stolen credit cards was used to make a fraudulent transaction at a petrol station on the corner of Bermuda Street and Christine Avenue. At the same time, a 24-year-old man parked near the air pump at the service station and was paying for items when he saw a customer — who had just been served in front of him — climb into the driver’s seat of his vehicle and drive off.
