Sim shares pro-am lead

GOLD Coast golfer Michael Sim took a while to get going but eventually grabbed a share of the lead in the Windaroo Lakes Pro-Am yesterday.

Sim and fellow professionals Aaron Pike and Peter Wilson played in the afternoon side of the draw and recorded rounds of 4-under-par 68 for a four-way tie at the top of the leaderboard.

Another professional, Ryan Woodward, had an early start and made the most of the ideal scoring conditions to shoot 68.

Sim, who is based at Lakelands Golf Club, clicked midway through his round, carding three birdies in four holes on the back nine.

“It was the first time I have played this course,” Sim said.

“I positioned myself well from tee to green and never really put myself under pressure, where I could have made a bogey.”
