Aussie Spirit aim for 2020

THE Aussie Spirit have begun their quest for Olympic softball glory by taking aim at a world championship gold medal in Japan.

There is a major incentive for participating countries with the victors of the 10-day competition in Chiba guaranteed a berth at the 2020 Olympics.

Softball will end a 12-year Olympic hiatus in Tokyo when six teams fight for the gold medal.

The Aussie Spirit, ranked No.4 in the world, have medalled at every Games when softball was played.
