No bail for drug counts
A BENOWA man has been refused bail after allegedly being found with about 240g of ice and a small container of GHB or Fantasy.
Joel Johnathan Daniel Te Kira did not enter a plea when he faced Southport Magistrates Court on multiple drugrelated charges.
Te Kira and two other people were arrested after police allegedly found the drugs during a search of a Benowa property.
Police say they then searched the maser bedroom and the drug detection dog immediately sat next to a backpack which contained two large clip seal bags – weighing 240 grams – containing what they believe to be methamphetamine, syringes, a small cylindrical container with a clear syruplike liquid believed to be GHB/Fantasy.
The court was told police also needed to administer first aid to a woman in the home who had overdosed.
She was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
There was also a four-yearold child in the home.
Magistrate Clare Kelly refused Te Kira bail and ordered he appear in court via videolink on August 2.
