Blues acts revealed

JACK Johnson, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals and St Paul & The Broken Bones will all perform exclusive Australian shows in Byron Bay when Bluesfest celebrates its 30th birthday next year.

George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic will also return to the festival at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm from April 18 to 22, 2019 to play their final shows before Clinton (allegedly) hangs up his touring hat for good.

Bluesfest newbies Ray Lamontagne, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Greensky Bluegrass and the folk supergroup I’m With Her will also perform while Bluesfest favourite Kasey Chambers will celebrate the 20th anniversar­y of her groundbrea­king album The Captain by performing it track by track as well as her hits.

The first line-up announceme­nt also includes Snarky Puppy, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Tommy Emmanuel, Colin Hay, Arlo Guthrie, Keb’ Mo, Tex Perkins, Allen Stone, Richard Clapton, Russell Morris, Vintage Trouble, The Black Sorrows, The California Honeydrops, Trevor Hall, Larkin Poe, Irish Mythen, Elephant Sessions and RocKwiz Live. Tickets are on sale via the festival website.
