Dramatic scenes as man found with cut to neck

-

A WOMAN allegedly stabbed a man and chased him up and down a Southport street while armed with a knife or scissors yesterday.

Police were called to Dowling Dr at 2.43pm yesterday after reports a man had been stabbed in the face with a pair of scissors.

It is understood the man was suffered the injury on Smith St before being chased to Dowling Dr.

A resident of the area, 18year-old Jai McCartney, said he called the police after the man – who had blood pouring from a cut to his neck – asked for help.

“I went to get something to put pressure on his cut and when I came back I heard a woman scream at him,” he said.

“He then ran off and the woman chased him down the street carrying a knife.”

Mr McCartney said he wasn’t sure if it was a knife or scissors.

“She chased him up and down the street three or four times,” he said.

“Sometimes they would stop and shout at each other.”

A woman was last night in custody assisting police with inquiries.

Paramedics transported a man in his 30s with facial wounds to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
