Well done to the doctor that hog tied that kid. We need more discipline today. Insipid, rebellious, brats are reformed by the whistle of the lash. - Pop

Blame Baildon. He was warned 20 years ago when he was mayor that our transport system would fail and did nothing. Now he is a councillor. Unbelievable. Broadwater Boy

I hope they build as many high-rises as possible in Mermaid Beach. -Marco Polo, Mermaid Beach

I just love the bravado from Treasurer Scott Morrison. First he tells us that the GST is coming off feminine health products and thenwe find out later in the fine print that he is taking the proposal to the COAG meeting. If the State Premiers knock it back, it's then their problem. Smart move. But what other item is going to cop the GST to make up the loss of money. Sneaky, you didn't mention that, Scomo. GT

Know what I hate about the

Turning the last page, and wishing I could pass it on to someone else to enjoy, because it is such a well presented and colourful paper that I have enjoyed for many years and will continue to do so! (I hate to chuck it out), Leigh the Cabbie

The greenies in the last 3 decades have stopped dozens of major dams in qld: eg 3 gorges, Wolfdene and the massive Gympie one etc - and now not only domestic cattle etc have no water, but many endangered native animals as well. Colour coated Joseph, of Egypt.

Why doesn't the Qld government come clean and admit if sentencing was harder there would be no place to put them. The prisons are overcrowded but the way they nanny them - only one to a cell, TVs etc put in triple bunk beds and if still no room they can sleep in shifts. I am sure I could fit them in. seeing how they do it in 3rd world countries they would think it was luxury they are in prison not a luxurious hotel. Dave D

Mark Evans you need to take those blinkers off or get your head out of the sand. Blind Freddie could see what Lynch was up to. But you couldn't, considering his new club controlled the timing of the operation so he can join them for pre season next year. If you’re not up to the task for the Suns to move forward maybe you should move on.

Every single day people driving cars from Surfers Paradise blvd and Elkhorn Avenue constantly park over the pedestrian

crossing - one day someone is going to get killed there - police need to supervise and fine people who do this or put up traffic cameras to catch them - it is not on. Jenny

Thank you Rhys O'Neill for making me laugh with your vote and picture of number 1 most influential people in sport. Guess Tony has cracked the number 2, s now.

Caught bus Palm Beach to Tweed return Saturday arvo. Stupid me paid. 6 going down didn't and 10 going up didn't. All you have to say is "fair evasion". That's the heads up GC users of Surfside Buses. John Palm Beach

Smith Family say 1.1 million of our children, live in Poverty! Stop immigration!! Macca

Ray Hadley’s policemen son was caught buying cocaine which makes him a criminal and should be treated as such. No special treatment because he's a policeman or a celebrities son.

Surprise Surprise- Mr. Turnbullyou look after the fat cat corrupt banks- and we will give this job to someone else! A Billion spent on foreign aid and millions spent on asylum seekers each week, yet Canberra only offers our precious farmers a lousy 12,000 each, while politicians live in total luxury at taxpayers expence who have never experienced hard times. Next election i will refuse to vote for any of these leaches. Daniel.

Three years since I've been to the casino, thought i'd check out all the new bars. How disappointed does one feel when served drinks in plastic glasses at both the garden bar and 19. Lift your game,

So proud to be a member of the last genuine Aussie generation not ruled by PC and mindless lefties. The better life gets the less appreciative are these modern users and abusers who have never really had to sacrifice, such as during war or an economic depression. I won't be around that much longer so it will be good riddance to pathetic politicians and the largely greedy, lazy, indulgent and ignorant voters they represent.

How low can ch10 go. The first ever V8 Supercars night time race, and it is not shown to free tv on Saturday night. They would rather show repeated rubbish and couldn't care less about the people who would have watched the race. J W

Noel hope you watched the super rugby final, NZ team win again continuing their long dominance in world rugby.

The Legends football matches run by Broadbeach and Palmy are a great way for players of the past to meet up renew friendships and remember moments in games played. Well done to both clubs.
