Drugs accused gets bail and bracelet

-

A GOLD Coast man allegedly involved in a multimillion-dollar Hells Angels ice trafficking ring has been granted bail with an ankle monitor and strict conditions.

Darren Rose, 47, did not appear in the Southport Magistrates Court yesterday when his lawyers applied for bail on his behalf.

Rose is facing multiple serious drug charges, including trafficking and possession.

Police raided Rose’s Southport home on June 15 where they allegedly found 55 grams of ice, 213 grams of MDA in tablet form and 23 grams of cannabis.

Rose has spent the past six weeks behind bars.

Police allege Rose was arrested as a result of Operation North Outfield, which has so far resulted in 44 people being charged with 354 offences and has seen $6 million worth of drugs taken off the streets.

Barrister Robert Gordon, instructed by Troy Smith, of Moloney MacCallum Abdelshahied Lawyers, told the court Rose’s mother was willing to offer a $20,000 surety for his release.
