FEENEY CLAIMS FIRST VICTORY TO SHAKE UP 86 SERIES

-

GOLD Coast’s Broc Feeney has taken his first victory in the Toyota 86 Racing Series at The Bend to charge up the points standings.

Feeney, 15, started the race in sixth position and by the completion of the first turn was in third, then chipped away to get to the lead.

A tense three and a half laps saw him withstand numerous challenges before stamping his authority on the race with a lap to go.

He pulled clear of his nearest opposition by enough margin that he could breathe easy over the final lap and bring it home for his first ever win in car racing.

“It is unbelievable to get my first win in my first season at only Round 3,” he said.

“We started the weekend really good topping first practice, but went backwards slowly. We had to re-group and then worked our way forward.”
