Lions duo in hunt for AFL elite side

-

BRISBANE Lions duo Harris Andrews and Dayne Beams have seen their stellar seasons rewarded with selection in the 40-man All-Australian squad.

Reigning premiers Richmond lead the way with eight players selected while the Gold Coast and St Kilda are the only clubs without a player nominated.

Collingwood, Geelong and West Coast have four players each in the squad.

Magpies captain Scott Pendlebury is joined by teammates Jordan De Goey, Brodie Grundy and Steele Sidebottom, who all could win honours for the first time.

Notable players overlooked for the squad include Geelong captain Joel Selwood, Fremantle skipper Nat Fyfe, Port Adelaide winger Jared Polec and Hawthorn backman Ben Stratton.
