Bondi whale removed
A DECAPITATED whale calf, which was also missing its tail, has been removed from Sydney’s Bondi Beach, which remains closed due to the risk of increased shark activity.
The juvenile humpback carcass was spotted at the northern end of the beach yesterday morning. The National Parks and Wildlife Service and whale welfare group ORRCA were called in to remove it.
It was taken away before noon to a waste transfer station for disposal, a NPWS spokeswoman said. It was unclear how the whale died.
