Campaign to improve visibility of pushbikes

SCHOOL students have ‘pimped’ out their bikes in a competitio­n hosted by police in an effort to promote a road safety message of ‘Be Seen to be Safe.’

Bikes were colourfull­y decorated and a number of winners selected by Division 12 Cr Pauline Young and Miami State School principal Andrew Schumacher.

Students were also able to view the police car, motorbikes and all-terrain vehicle.

They were also reminded to wear their helmets, make good choices around roads and remain aware of their surroundin­gs.

As part of Road Safety Week, police are encouragin­g all road users to brush up on the road rules.
