Guilty of helping IS

A US soldier based in Hawaii has pleaded guilty to trying to help Islamic State.

Sergeant 1st Class Ikaika Kang, 35, told a judge he provided secret military informatio­n, a drone meant to track US troops and other support to purported members of the terrorist organisati­on.

Kang pleaded guilty to all four charges that were laid against him.

He is expected to be jailed for 25 years as part of a plea agreement when he is sentenced for the offences on December 10.
