Coach dons a new hat

SUNSHINE Coast Lightning mentor Noeline Taurua was yesterday appointed as the New Zealand national coach heading into next year’s World Cup in Liverpool.

She will juggle both the Lightning and Silver Ferns roles after the Sunshine Coast and Netball New Zealand agreed to share the crafty silverware magnet.

“I am very fortunate that most major international netball events are scheduled outside the Super Netball season, enabling me to dedicate adequate time and attention to both roles,” Taurua said.
