Sunlight eyes 1400m

TRAINER Tony McEvoy is changing tack with Magic Millions winner Sunlight with a view to a potential start in the Group 1 Golden Rose.

The three-year-old will get the chance to press her claims when she runs in the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

Sunlight won the Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 18 and McEvoy wants to explore whether she can step up in distance to the 1400m of the Golden Rose.

“I know I’ve always said speed, speed, speed with her but I think I’ve seen some little changes in her,” he said.
