‘ODD COUPLE’ JUST OOZE CUTENESS

- EMILY HALLORAN

A GOLD Coast animal foster carer thinks her two furry friends should win the Gold Coast’s cutest pet competition.

Jennie Miles has been fostering pets for the last 18 years, caring for 49 in the last two years – but she has two extra special friends.

Princess Petuina Pookie Sparkles, 13, is a Tibetan cross spaniel and Lahlah Valentine, 7, is a ragdoll cross who their owner says look just like brother and sister.

“Pookie has no teeth. Her tongue was hanging out and she looked so lonely. I took her home for a week and now I’ve had her for six years,” Mrs Miles said.

“Lahlah is the perfect hairy-man cat.”

Pookie the dog also has a part-time job putting smiles on faces at the Broadbeach Waters Disability Centre.

“She has a very calming personality, just rolls on her back and snorts,” Mrs Miles said.” Entries are judged on the most interesting and creative photos showing how cute your pet is. Go to goldcoastbulletin.com.au/ competitions.
