Bogut paying his own

BOGUT’S PRESENCE

ANDREW Bogut playing this season in the NBL is a dream come true for the league.

The Brisbane Bullets announced this week that they are moving their game against the Sydney Kings to the Brisbane Convention Centre due to the ticket sales for the game going through the roof.

In classic Bogut style, he responded with a tweet ‘You are welcome (thumbs up emoji)’.

Andrew Bogut is the highest profile player in Australian history with an incredible career highlighted by taking Australia to an Under-19 world title (tournament MVP), drafted No.1 in the 2005 draft to Milwaukee, All NBA third team honours (2010), All Defensive second team honours (2015) and in the same year he won an NBA title with the Golden State Warriors.

He also was a part of the Boomers team that played fantastically at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and came away fourth.

The highlight for mine was after losing against the USA team after leading for most of the game, the sideline reporter approached him full of praise for pushing the USA team –. Bogut’s response was fantastic.

“Look, we’re disappointed. The Australian media is going to be like ‘you guys did great, this and that’. No we didn’t. We lost,” he said.

I mean, what a legend. He knew they were good enough to win.

That kind of belief and understanding of the moment is what also makes him a great follow on twitter.

Never afraid to speak his own mind and go out on a limb, he makes for great copy and the NBL will be lapping up his presence in the game.
