CARNIVAL IS FLIPPING AWESOME

PART one of the National Clubs Gymnastics carnival wrapped up at the weekend, with clubs from around Australia proving their skills in flipping, tumbling and performing.

After eight days of competitio­n at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, winners were crowned in trampoline gymnastics, aerobic and Gymnastics for All. Brisbane-based Robertson gymnastics took out the trampoline, finishing 56.111 points ahead of Sydney Gymnastics Centre.

Melbourne Girls’ College won the aerobics on 310 points.

Melbourne’s Advantage Gym Sports was crowned the Overall Best Performanc­e Club for aerobics.

The TeamGym competitio­n saw clubs compete across floor, tumbling and mini-tramp, with gold awards going to ACT’s Woden Valley Gymnastics Club in intermedia­te and Gymnastics NSW Combined Clubs Performanc­e Team and Western Australia’s Swan Districts Gymnastics Club in advanced. Part two begins this weekend with artistic and rhythmic gymnastics.
