The Gold Coast is well known as Australia’s fastest growing city. It’s is time for both our civic leaders and also the State Government to undertake plans to have a Supreme Court situated on the Gold Coast.

Southport is a vital and lively place. At the centre of the community is the courts. Citizens have the right to be judged and have their cases decided in their local area.

For too long the Gold Coast has been treated as a poor cousin to Brisbane. In five years the population will have increased to more than 637,000.

A Supreme Court building could also include a much-needed venue for a federal circuit judge dealing with family law matters.
