Cane’s injury worry

-

ALL Blacks flanker Sam Cane broke a vertebrae in his neck during New Zealand’s 32-30 win over South Africa on Sunday morning. He is expected to make a full recovery but will miss the remaining Tests in 2018.

Cane suffered the injury to the lower right side of his neck late in the first half in Pretoria when his head bent toward his chest in a low collision with Boks forward Francois Louw.

All Blacks doctor Tony Page said Cane had a small fracture in a vertebrae on the lower right side of the neck, but had not suffered from any nerve damage, something that could have caused long-term problems.
