FISHING

SEAWAY: Plenty of good-sized bream being caught. Trevally and jewfish at night.

OFFSHORE: Too rough to fish in these strong winds.

BEACHES: Great whiting in the surf around The Spit and Main Beach. Also plenty of goodsized dart and flathead.

SQUIRE ISLAND: Lots of good whiting in the area.

ESTUARIES: Sand crabs in abundance in the south end of the Broadwater and Nerang River. Heaps of mangrove jacks being being taken on live baits and soft plastics.
