The Gympie Times - - NEWS | OPINION - FROM THE MAYOR’S DESK MICK CURRAN gympie.qld.gov.au

IT’S a busy time for the council, with a variety of free community events across our region.

This weekend, residents can dispose of hazardous household waste, which cannot be disposed of at the waste management facilities, for free at Nelson Park Reserve between 9am-noon on Saturday.

In the Goomeri community, we’ll be hosting a Have Your Say forum at the Goomeri Golf Club next Wednesday, asking residents how we can best support with community services and facilities.

This follows on from a successful community night in Kilkivan.

Movies in the Park ran last weekend in Gympie with our next screening in Kilkivan on November 25 and then on to Kandanga on December 8.

We are also hosting a number of free family friendly community events as we head into the festive season.

We have two Mary St Christmas events planned for December 13 and 20, and Christmas in the Park on December 16.

We’re also busy planning the New Year’s Eve event to be held in the Gympie Town Centre and will be announcing more details soon.

We’ll keep everyone updated with the details on our website and Facebook page – hope to see you there.
