Secrets Of Tutankhamun’s Treasures

SBS, 7.30pm

The Gympie Times - - LIFE -

His tomb was discovered way back in 1922, but Egyptian king Tutankhamun’s resting place is still a treasure trove of history, painstakingly being explored. Filled with more than 5000 artefacts and bursting at its mummified seams with gold, the child king’s life story has long been a source of fascination. After watching this three-part series, premiering tonight, you may not be able to look at the king’s legendary death mask, which was made with 10kg of gold, in the same way. Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves throws a theory up that perhaps it wasn’t meant for Tutankhamun after all.
