Qld Senior Australian of Year revealed
COMMUNITY elder Aunty Lillian Burke missed out last night on winning the 2019 Queensland Senior Australian of the Year.
Aunty Lillian was one of four nominees for the state honour, so nominated for her volunteer work in the Gympie region community, and her position as a community elder.
She was recently named a Senior Fellow of USC for her work in encouraging young Aboriginal students to study and move on to university.
2019 Queensland Senior Australian of the Year is 68year-old scientist, Professor James Dale AO of Moggill.
