Mathew In­gram is se­nior writer at For­tune.com, where he writes about the in­ter­sec­tion of tech­nol­ogy and the me­dia, as well as web cul­ture and re­lated is­sues. Prior to join­ing For­tune in 2015, he was a se­nior writer at the San Fran­cisco-based on­line me­dia com­pany Gi­gaom, where he cov­ered the evo­lu­tion of new and old me­dia, as well as the rise of so­cial net­work­ing lead­ers such as Twit­ter and Face­book.

Be­fore join­ing Gi­gaom, Mathew spent 15 years as a re­porter and colum­nist at The Globe and Mail. He was one of the pa­per’s first tech­nol­ogy writ­ers, cov­er­ing the in­vest­ment im­pli­ca­tions of the web from 1995 on­ward, and he was also the pa­per’s first blog­ger and then its first so­cial-me­dia edi­tor. He helped de­velop and im­ple­ment the news­pa­per’s on­line and so­cial-me­dia strat­egy.

Mathew’s writ­ing has ap­peared in The New York Times, The Wash­ing­ton Post and The New Zealand Her­ald, as well as on Bloomberg and Ya­hoo, and he has ad­vised a num­ber of lead­ing me­dia out­lets in both Canada and the U.S. on their dig­i­tal and so­cial-me­dia strat­egy.
