The food store that sprawls be­side the café is an Aladdin’s cave of lo­cal and im­ported good­ies. The food is un­fussy and clas­sic, the am­bi­ence re­laxed and wel­com­ing. One of their most de­voted cus­tomers is a lovely re­tired gent called John who comes in every day for a scone and a coffee and brings arm­fuls of meadow flow­ers for the staff.
