Knit 3 rows. Row 1 (RS): Work row 1 of Chart, working the 12-st pattern repeat 21 times. Row 2 (WS and all following WS rows): Sl 1 wyif, K2, P to last 3 sts, K3. Row 3: Work row 3 of Chart, working the 12-st pattern repeat 21 times. Continue as established working through all 28 rows of Chart once.
SHORT ROW SECTION
Row 1: Sl 1 wyif, K140, turn. 130 sts rem. Row 2: Sl 1 wyif, K10, turn. 130 sts rem. Row 3: Sl 1 wyif, K to 1 st before last turning point, SSK, K4, turn. Row 4: Sl 1 wyif, K to 1 st before last turning point, SSK, K4, turn. Rep last 2 rows a total of 26 times, until all the unworked sts are worked. 219 sts. Cast off using a regular cast-off method.
Weave in all loose ends. Soak shawl in lukewarm water. Squeeze out excess water in a towel. Stretch shawl to shape and measurements and pin in place. Leave to dry.
