As part of its Selects limited-edition yarn ranges, Rowan has launched Breezed. It’s a worsted-weight blend of 80% cotton and 20% linen, and offers a cool handle and an interesting texture. Breezed is available in seven natural earth shades ranging from a watery blue, sage green and apricot, to sand and snow white.
Sarah Hatton has designed a book of seven patterns showcasing the new yarn, all with a soft and summery feel. ‘Campana’ is a boat-necked, short-sleeved top with a textured fabric, while the nautical-themed ‘Calpine’ sweater is suited to cooler days.
The feminine ‘Sattley’ jumper has cropped sleeves and a scoop neck, and features all-over lace patterning. Simple knit-and-purl patterning and short rows are used on the ‘Coloma’ lightweight poncho. There is also a vest top and a striped cardigan. If you fancy a quick knit to test out the new yarn, try the ‘Alta’ cowl with its branched lace motif.
