Cast off.

BACK

Work the same as Front.

SIDES

Using 4mm needles, cast on 27 sts. Work 4 rows in garter st. Work in pattern for Front, but working 1 rep of pattern across.

BASE

Using 3.25mm needles, cast on 30 sts. Starting with a knit row, work in st st for 32cm. Cast off.

MAKING UP

Using mattress stitch, sew sides to front and back, sew base into position at bottom of bag. Cut out lining fabric and stiffening fabric to fit inside bag, and sew into shape of bag. Place them both inside bag and hand sew into position. Turn over the garter stitch border at the top and sew down. Sew a press fastener to each side of bag at top. Sew handles into position.
