Colourwork jumper

The Knitter - - Contents -

TO CREATE this feminine jumper, the stranded colourwork panels for the front and back are worked first, which are then joined at the shoulders. Next, stitches are picked up along the edges of the panels, and the sides of the jumper are knitted in stocking stitch with garter stitch ridges. The neckline is finished with a few rows in garter stitch. Nadya Stalling’s design calls for Rowan’s aran-weight Hemp Tweed, which has a firm handle yet feels smooth and soft. It comes in 17 warm, tweedy colours.

PATTERN NOTES

This garment is worked in two directions: the central panels of back and front are worked from bottom up in two colours, and connected at the shoulders. Then stitches are picked up for each side, and worked in a single solid colour sideways along with the sleeves.
