BACK

Us­ing 6mm nee­dles and two strands of yarn A held to­gether, cast on 87 ( 93: 99: 105: 113) sts. Row 1: K1, (P1, K1) to end. This row forms moss stitch. Work 8 more rows in moss stitch. Begin­ning on st 2 ( 4: 2: 4: 4) of Chart, work rows 5-44 of Chart once, then re­peat rows 1-44 through­out. Note that on rows 27–30 the yarn not in use will be held at the front, form­ing floats on the RS of the work. Cont as set un­til piece meas 84 ( 86: 88: 90: 92) cm.

SHAPE SHOUL­DERS

Cast off 6 ( 7: 7: 8: 9) sts at beg of next 8 ( 4: 8: 4: 2) rows, then 5 ( 6: 6: 7: 8) sts at beg of next 2( 6: 2: 6: 8) rows. 29 ( 29: 31: 31: 31) sts. Cont with­out shap­ing un­til piece meas 85 ( 87: 89: 91: 93) cm. Next row: Patt 6, cast off 17 ( 17: 19: 19: 19) sts, patt to end. Work­ing each side sep­a­rately, cast off 2 sts at the beg of the next 3 WS rows. With RS fac­ing, re­join yarn to rem 6 sts and cast off 2 sts at the beg of the next 3 WS rows.

LEFT FRONT POCKET LIN­ING

Us­ing 6mm nee­dles and yarn A, cast on 30 sts. Work in st st for 20cm. Dec 1 st at each end of the next RS row. 28 sts. Leave the sts on a holder. Us­ing 6mm nee­dles and two strands of yarn A held dou­ble, cast on 49 ( 52: 55: 58: 62) sts.** Row 1 (WS): (K1, P1) 4 times, work 41 ( 44: 47: 50: 54) sts in moss stitch. Row 2: Work 41 ( 44: 47: 50: 54) sts in moss st, work to end in 1x1 rib. Cont to work as set un­til 9 rows are com­plete. Cut yarn and place the 8 edg­ing sts on a holder. With RS fac­ing, re­join yarn . Begin­ning on stitch 4 ( 1: 2: 3: 3) of Chart, work row 5 of chart to end of row, cast on 1 st in yarn A. 42 ( 45: 48: 51: 55) sts. SLEEVES

(both alike) Us­ing 7mm nee­dles and two strands of yarn A held to­gether, cast on 53 ( 55: 59: 59: 61) sts. Work in 1x1 rib for 20cm. Change to 6mm nee­dles. Beg on st 4 ( 2: 2: 2: 4), work rows 5-44 of Chart once, then re­peat rows 1-44 through­out. When piece meas 39 ( 39: 39: 40: 40) cm, cast off. Work the other sleeve to match.

TO MAKE UP

Stitch pock­ets to the WS of work. Sew shoul­der seams.

LEFT BUT­TON BAND

With RS fac­ing, place the 8 sts on hold on the front edge of the Left Front onto a 6mm nee­dle. Cast on 1 st and cont in 1x1 rib to end. 9 sts. Cont to work in rib un­til piece reaches to the mid-back neck when slightly stretched. Cast off and stitch to the gar­ment us­ing mat­tress stitch. Us­ing pins or waste yarn, mark the places of three but­tons on the but­ton band: the up­per­most where the neck­line de­creases be­gin, and the re­main­ing two but­tons 14cm apart be­low the first but­ton.

RIGHT BUTTONHOLE BAND

With WS fac­ing, work as for the Left But­ton Band, mak­ing but­ton­holes to cor­re­spond with mark­ers by work­ing as fol­lows: Buttonhole row (RS): Rib 3, K2­tog, yo, rib to end. At­tach the edg­ing and sew the two edg­ings to­gether at the back.

FIN­ISH­ING

Fold the sleeves in half and at­tach to the sleeves to the bodice, lin­ing the cen­tre of the sleeve up with the shoul­der seam. Sew sleeve seams and side seams. At­tach but­tons. Gently block to mea­sure­ments, fol­low­ing any yarn care in­struc­tions on the ball band.
