Echoes of Heather and Stone

The Knitter - - The Knitter Loves - By Carol Feller

Carol Feller has often looked to the landscapes of her native Ireland for inspiration when designing her knitwear. For her newest book, Carol and a host of international designers have taken cues from Ireland’s ancient past to produce a wonderful collection of projects.

A range of techniques is on display, such as the swirling cables on Lucy Hague’s Neolithic-inspired shawl. The rollneck ‘Shamrock’ sweater by Justyna Lorkowska features intricate diamond cables, while decorative slip stitch cables travel across the surface of Amanda Schwabe’s long raglan cardigan.

Isabell Kraemer is well known for her seamless sweater designs, and ‘Aine’ has an intriguing colourwork yoke pattern. Jennifer Wood brings her super-feminine style to the ‘Ahenny’ cabled jumper, and there are also beautiful accessories from Woolly Wormhead and Karie Westermann.
