Teens charged over string of robberies
TEENAGERS aged just 13 and 14 have been charged over multiple burglaries on the Gold Coast.
Police arrested and charged the two boys, along with a 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old male, after an alleged break-in at the Peter Senior Court residences at Parkwood on Thursday.
A 62-year-old woman returned home from a walk about 5.15pm to allegedly find the youths in her home.
It is alleged they stole jewellery and a car that was used to flee the scene.
Police tracked them by helicopter, but the car was abandoned on Nerang St at Southport about 6.15pm.
The dog squad was brought in and they were arrested a short time later.
Police charged each of the teens with one count of burglary, committing an indictable offence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The 13-year-old and 14-year-old were also charged with other burglary and stealing offences, allegedly committed on the Gold Coast this month and in December.
