■ SN, YPN. All the coal we export for electricity generation accounts for only ONE percent of all global CO2 from coal. Even if we totally stuff our economy, it will make NO difference to climate change.

■ MAGGIE. I am hoping The Yes campaign is successful tomorrow and my beautiful niece Laura and her fiance Jen can get married.

■ BJ, ROCKY. Sick of all the ‘we want a high school for poor Gracemere’. Well have you asked Cath Ed why they have not built one out there? NO because they say the same as Education Qld, the numbers don’t add up to spending millions on a school with less then 30% of students. Remember students at private school will still go to them fact again sorry it’s the way it is.

■ JEFF, ROCKY. Great to see our ADF trialing their new tanks recently at Shoalwater Bay. However, as usual it all gets packed up and taken back along the metaphorical Bruce Highway/Drainage Pipe to the SE octopus. A permanent ADF base in CQ is well overdue! This is a commitment amongst others that both parties need to make as the once great advantage Qld had, that of de-centralisation, is fading fast.

■ CJB, ROCKY. I am sorry to inform you KD Walkerston, it is now called a Golden Rainbow not a Golden Gaytime.

■ CD BERSERKER. Is any one having trouble with Optus Mobile coverage in Berserker? My mobile cannot receive or make voice calls but drive 200m up to Frenchville and it works. Very frustrating as I have spent hours on landline trying to resolve this.

■ BILL TENNENT, COOWONGA. A royal commission into the banks? It is my understanding that a Royal Commission can only be established by the legal power exercised by the GG acting on the advice of government ministers. It appears therefore that talk revolving about the Labor Party initiating a vote in the House Of Representatives to establish a Royal Commission is again, so much smoke and mirrors.

■ ANON. why is there fifo there should plenty locals wanting work the mine been in the pipe line for sometime training should have started years ago

■ ROCK. tell me this, when rent sky rockets where will the low income pensioners live in flaming tent on river bank? Greed is cruel, power and cost of living already hurting something must give

■ CJB, ROCKY. Let me say to anyone who cares to read or listen, Al Byrnand is a very wise man.

■ A PROUD QUEENSLANDER. Rock It takes two dirty NSW players in World Cup to give all others in the Australian team a bad name.

■ GUNNER. Drugs, crime & violence, the law and order critical issues, all placed in the far too difficult basket by all those aspiring candidates once again.

■ RAP. If election candidates are going to be allowed to stick their signs up everywhere then they should be made to check them every day. Some are already knocked over and they just add to the rubbish on the road side. ■ LBS. Negative tv ads about the opposition are not going to make me vote for anyone. I want to know what you are going to do if re elected. Get it? ■ MOOSE, DEPOT HILL. To my old mate AB. Just walk up to the gate and walk through it and say “I don’t need to be told how to vote it’s all in my head.” ■ STEPHEN BARTON,

ALTON DOWNS. Re. Malcolm Wells (13/11) and Political Cartoon opposite page. Some people think it is funny to mock the things of God. They should consider the whole of His Third Commandment “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain”.

■ ARTY, ROCKY. Religious leaders should stick to pastoral care and not politics. The Anglican priest does not speak for the congregation.

■ AB ROCKHAMPTON. I voted on Monday, parked out front then had to get past the skirmish to the front door of the building. I thought this mob had to keep a certain distance from the front door of a building for voting.

Projects like the one in Mount Morgan that impact shops should be tendered out to private companies with a criteria of being completed as soon as possible. The council will not work weekends will not work RDOs and don’t mind how long the project takes. There is a way to speed up projects.

■ MAGGIE. How unreal has the Rugby League World Cup been over the past few days.

I couldn’t really get into it initially, it all just seemed like a foregone conclusion. Australia V Lebanon was inspirational. What a tough game. Tonga defeating defeating NZL, who’d have thought!

How incredible is the reach for the NRL to expand and capitalize on future growth. Also, our talented women’s cricketers and Socceroos continue to exceed all expectations. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie OI OI OI

■ DM. Brisbane to get an entertainment centre at Roma St parklands worth millions if Labor win election. The great SE wins again. Rocky doesn’t have one centre or a sports stadium, we have to go to Mackay.
