Let business councils decide wages, conditions

The Morning Bulletin - - OPINION -

I WOULD like to answer the humorous letter from Shaun Newman (TMB 14/05/18) re Bill Shorten’s Budget Reply speech.

It took me a long time to control my laughter, evidently Shaun Newman hasn’t seen too many opposition Budget reply speeches.

I have watched numerous news commentators ask Big Spending Bill, how he is going to pay for this ridiculous “double” tax break that the Government is offering.

No answer, of course, why should he, this is the same as the Government selling Medicare. Did he apologise? Not on your life! I believe that after seeing just how much money all the unions are receiving, they are Big Business!

The unions should be made to pay tax or get rid of all unions and create a business council to oversee any and all business wages and conditions. Bruce Simpson Rockhampton
