Biochar ‘cowboy’ to speak at conference
QUEENSLANDER Khory Hancock, also known as the ‘Environmental Cowboy’, will speak at the Australian and NZ Biochar Conference at Murwillumbah next month.
Khory is a young carbon farmer and climate change activist who the conference organisers say “will speak on behalf of the next generation of carbon farmers who not only take the bottom line into account but the effects of our farming practices on global warming”.
Another speaker is Suchanya Wongrod, a PhD student at the University of Paris.
Suchanya will provide insights into the use of sewerage sludge biochar.
The conference is on August 10–12.
Growers, farmers, foresters, policy makers, industry professionals, students and entrepreneurs can register at anzbc.org.au.
