Biochar ‘cow­boy’ to speak at con­fer­ence

QUEENS­LAN­DER Khory Han­cock, also known as the ‘En­vi­ron­men­tal Cow­boy’, will speak at the Aus­tralian and NZ Biochar Con­fer­ence at Mur­willum­bah next month.

Khory is a young car­bon farmer and cli­mate change ac­tivist who the con­fer­ence or­gan­is­ers say “will speak on be­half of the next gen­er­a­tion of car­bon farm­ers who not only take the bot­tom line into ac­count but the ef­fects of our farm­ing prac­tices on global warm­ing”.

An­other speaker is Suchanya Won­grod, a PhD stu­dent at the Uni­ver­sity of Paris.

Suchanya will pro­vide in­sights into the use of sew­er­age sludge biochar.

The con­fer­ence is on Au­gust 10–12.
