first prog­eny of Six Star Rare Com­mod­ity of­fered at auc­tion has sold for a Speckle Park breed fe­male record price of $31,000.

Six Star G61 Tammy, a 15-month-old heifer, topped the Speckle Park Speck­tac­u­lar Sale at the Royal Mel­bourne Show, held in con­junc­tion with the breed’s fea­ture show­ing.

The sale of­fered 23 live fe­male and bull lots, sell­ing 22 to an av­er­age of $11,858.

The record heifer was pur­chased by Peter and Ros Alexan­der and Louise and Craig Parker, of Hid­den Val­ley Speckle Parks, from Kyo­gle and Mur­willum­bah in north­ern New South Wales. It was sold by Greg Ebbeck, of Six Star stud at Bun­danoon, NSW, who said the heifer was out of the Aus­tralian foun­da­tion stud’s best cow line.
