first progeny of Six Star Rare Commodity offered at auction has sold for a Speckle Park breed female record price of $31,000.
Six Star G61 Tammy, a 15-month-old heifer, topped the Speckle Park Specktacular Sale at the Royal Melbourne Show, held in conjunction with the breed’s feature showing.
The sale offered 23 live female and bull lots, selling 22 to an average of $11,858.
The record heifer was purchased by Peter and Ros Alexander and Louise and Craig Parker, of Hidden Valley Speckle Parks, from Kyogle and Murwillumbah in northern New South Wales. It was sold by Greg Ebbeck, of Six Star stud at Bundanoon, NSW, who said the heifer was out of the Australian foundation stud’s best cow line.
