Help Max see
JEANNIE and Rod Moran want to do all they can to help their grandson Max regain his sight.
Seven-year-old Max, who lives in the Brisbane area, was born with the genetic condition ocular albinism, which affects the eyes, and was diagnosed legally blind when he was four months old. He does have some vision but it is severely impaired.
A new technology is now available in Australia called eSight, which is set to improve Max’s sight.
The Morans have organised a fundraiser in Ballina to help cover the $13,000 needed to get Max to Adelaide so he can be fitted with eSight glasses.
The Family Fun Day will be held at the Shaws Bay Hotel on Sunday from noon.
There will be a free jumping castle and face-painting for children, as well as raffles held throughout the afternoon.
Some of the prizes include a family pass to Dreamworld, a night at the Ramada Hotel and Suites in Ballina and a car service with Central Ballina Service Centre, plus more.
